Ryan Golt is a graduate of the Master’s program in the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology at McGill University, and will be graduating from Harvard University with a Master’s in Public Health in May 2019.
Having personal lived experience with the stigma associated with mental illness, Ryan continues to be an advocate provincially and nationally on decreasing stigma around mental health challenges. Ryan’s research focuses on developing and evaluating programs surrounding mental health resilience and decreasing stigma in young adults and adolescents, such as the Stronger Than Stigma program at universities and the School of Talk program in high schools. Ryan also founded WellMTL, an organization whose mission is to help individuals of all ages overcome the social and financial barriers associated with taking care of their mental health through evidence-based methods. After Harvard, Ryan plans to forge a career in mental health advocacy at the macro-level.
