Panel Expert: Founder and President of Stella's Place
Donna Green has over 40 years experience in community development, arts and culture, and real estate. Raised under the mentorship of her father and role model Al Green, Donna understands the importance of leadership, passion and tenacity for making real change and impact in the community.
As a tireless community activist, Donna served for thirteen years as the first woman National Chair of the Foundation Fighting Blindness (FFB), now Canada’s largest private funder for eye research. In 2013 Donna created the Stella’s Place Assessment and Treatment Centre, Canada’s first community-based treatment centre for young adults with mood disorders and other mental health challenges.
As a business entrepreneur, Donna is Co-owner and Director of Greenrock Investments Ltd., which oversees family and personal real estate assets.
In 2018, Donna was the proud recipient of the Governor General’s, Meritorious Service Medal, for her work with Stella’s Place.
Donna is also a working musician, playing with The Satin Dolls and Moo'd Swing. In the summers she organizes a non-profit summer retreat for musicians, combining her love of music, real estate and community development.
Donna is affected with RP (Retinitis Pigmentosa) and has lived with vision loss for over 25 years. This has taught her to be resilient and hope for a cure. She and her partner Mike have two grown children and a guide dog named Juno.
